Travel Tips: check-in or carry-on baggage?
I always go on a business trip for work. The only thing I can not travel without my laptop is faithful. As much as I love my MacBook, it is always an inconvenience to have to put the laptop through security, carry it with me around the airport and finally get it, and myself on the plane. Normally it is not an issue for me I always bring my laptop as hand luggage. However, during my business trip the most recent, I decided that because I did not intend to work on the computer plan, there was no reason to carry it with me. Unfortunately I check with the rest of my luggage. It was the worst mistake I could have done. For a seasoned business traveler, this may seem like a mistake novice would. But sometimes we all need a little back. I hope by relaying my story, I can save you making the same mistake I done.
A laptop is a portable device invaluable. Whether you're in the office or traveling, it can quickly give you access to important data, information and software. However, it is for these reasons that laptops are of great interest to thieves, and, therefore, very vulnerable to theft. In fact, Safeware Insurance Group said that in the United States, owners of laptops have a chance 1 in 14 that their laptop will be stolen. Of course, I am aware that laptops are a prime target for theft, but I thought it would be quite safe in my suitcase. I could not have been worse. Just because it was packed among my suits and shirts collar does not mean he was protected. The fact is that you really need to be aware of where your laptop is at all times, and if it is checked in the rest of your luggage, you violate this simple rule. You have absolutely no idea who may be handling or if it can meet. By naively decide to check my laptop with the rest of my luggage, I was in a sense putting myself up for it taken. Moreover, the most frightening of having your laptop stolen is the fact that your confidential data is within now accessible to a thief. Who knows the intentions of a thief? Needless to say, once I discovered my laptop had been taken, I fear.
I know this may seem like a big hassle having to unload your laptop just to get through security, but I promise you this: the unloading of your laptop at the security barrier in an airline is a drawback minor compared to the trouble that comes with a stolen laptop.
Filing a police report to work without your important files, and worrying that someone can commit identity theft and personal information are drawbacks to avoided at all costs.
What is the easy way? Get a computer case. I recently purchased a computer case not only in an excellent Safety is my laptop, but also room to store other essentials baggage I need during the flight. I love because besides being very compact and portable, it is also very fashionable. Having a computer case allows me to check in my luggage without worry because I know my laptop is safe and secure by my side.
Yet, even when you choose your course and transport laptop in the airplane, there are a few things to learn from while traveling. Be sure and keep an eye on your laptop while is on the treadmill at the security door – and remember to take it back after passing through security. Finally, keep your computer laptop near you on the plane – your feet or in a locked case placed in the overhead bins – and be aware of your environment at any time.
