Sometimes, when my mother gets up at night for a drink, she sees large black spots and can not see
My mother has glaucoma and is in drops eye at bedtime. Over the last two years to three times, she got up during the night for a drink and saw large patches black, then could not see anything for a few seconds. We told the eye doctor and he did not say anything. It happened twice two years ago and time this year and lasted only a few seconds. Is it serious? The doctor did not seem concerned and we have taken two eye specialists different and they could not find any damage behind the eyes.
I also developed hypertension and glaucoma ortho-static which makes me become dizzy and lose sight when I got up abruptly. I found it goes, as I'm getting enough sleep and my stress level is low. The black spots are always warning signs for me that my pressure is up and I need to go to the doctor. Usually My pressures were in the range 30-50 starting when I saw black spots.
