The bikes are fixed gear for better training rhythm?
As an avid cyclist and runner for many years, I recently received a fixed gear bike and a few models that were laying around. Lifestyle bike looks really appeal to I more than ever and I want to put in place for a decent road bike, light, with all the bells and whistles.I have not cycled for some months now and I wonder if you think fixed gear bikes are good for cadence. This being my first fixed gear bike, I found it fascinating that I have to pedal constantly or fall. I have a 40 mile round trip and my legs feel awesome. I run a 40×16 ratio for now and, surprisingly, I'm really fast on this machine. I believe the ratio is best for the hills and I can go faster but I have this ratio for the time willing to work my way up to 14 and finally 11 in the back. I have logic in my head that it does do wonders for your pace, but something told me to ask someone who knows. Thank you all in advance!
you have a range of effective pace to set a speed you have an effcient vehicle speed / cadence. most with gear fix is you can train your rate of climb with more running, but you should find lots of hills down. and yes it will help the soft pedal strokes. but too overspinning can be difficult on the knees.
