I am a big believer in modeling successful people. I do the best as I can to surround myself with good people and go as deep as I can in their work. This is not just enough for me to read a book or watching a video. I want to spend time with them on a deeper level. Read their nuances, their strategies and how they think. The challenge of this approach is that the more demand is the person the more difficult it is to access.
One of the guys that I really wanted to spend a long period of time with and go "vertical" has been with Tony Robbins. The first step I took was to take an unlimited number of Power Weekend. It's crazy during the march on coals top (really) the weekend. It was fantastic and has definitely changed. It is a 3 day seminar spends 12 hours a day and you just never sit down. Imagine the best rock concert you've ever been to that you do not want to end.
As I was leaving I loved UPW jonesin 'for more! I decided to go a level deeper and sign with date fate. DWD is 12 hours a day for seven days with this crazy! And it is not cheap – $ 5,495 per ticket. When you do the math on two tickets (for Me and Kim) with airfare and hotel, it is definitely a "put your money where your mouth is" kind of thing. To give you an idea of what Guy who is an excerpt from Tony intense with Al Gore at the TED conference (this is a great video of 20 minutes, but if you want to spend the early part Al Gore at about minute 16).
There are about 2,000 people who come to DWD. When you cue up to register, you will see a process very well organized like a performance of Broadway dancers included. The event begins this afternoon and includes people queue at the door for a few hours prominently before the event begins. When you enter the doors open in a huge ballroom with 10,000 watts of power, slamming the music of your chest. You find a dark room filled with smoke machines, rock concert lighting worthy of Full Tilt and everyone on their dance chairs. This is not a "wait until the third day of the event to allow our hair down" kind thing. It's "Let's Party" from the nano second you walk in the town.
Before walking into the room, I try to understand how to hold my attention for 12 hours a day for seven consecutive days. Now I get it. In fact, the seminar is so nice that when you go to the bathroom you run as fast as possible and return your request to the guy next to you what you missed. There were days when I watched the clock and realized it was 5:00 and we have not even stopped for lunch. It is difficult for me to take my favorite section, but if I had to pick one, I would say the male female section. Tony takes strategies traditional relationship and flips it on its head. It shows you how the average American (in some cases) increased from a man Clark Gable actor in the years 50 khaki pants with P *** Y in the 2000s. It also explains how women (in some cases) has slipped from a sexy female version men themselves.
It is almost impossible for me to describe in detail more than 70 hours of content. Believe me when I tell you it was very worthwhile and that I would do it again (in fact I never do it again). I believe it is crucial that we "hang out" and "surround us. Not Make no mistake, I am not a Tony Robbins drink the purple Kool-Aid groupie. His stuff is just that life changes and the value of time and money than I wanted to share. It has certainly changed mine without doubt.
