Oh, Doctor, I'm in trouble! (Oh, goodness, my God!)
OH IM doctor in trouble! (Oh, goodness, my God!)
HOW DO I actually see you??
I just saw the title in my daily journal million cannot get to see their family doctor. This seems to be damaging side effect of governments so that patients should be able to see their doctor within 48 hours, and if practices remain in this goal the government they are eligible for a cash reward.
So this explanation solves the mystery of my own experience frustrating to try to book an appointment with doctors before my vacation. There were no appointments available, but when I asked for an appointment for the time available for my return, I was informed that it was not possible to book in advance. I was said that patients had the phone the day at 8.30am and appointments have been allocated on a first come, first served policy. It was followed by a word of warning
be sure to ring at 8.30am on appointments go very quickly. And, not surprisingly, it was not possible to go to the slump in the afternoon, it was only possible to call the time occupied at the time of surgery open in the morning. The only thing I felt sure of (a) at 8:30 in the phone line is permanently engaged (b) when where I got through all the appointments would be gone and (3) my blood pressure was already on the rise. No wonder that many people have stress problems related to health. (Ill tell you I'm joking when I ask you Can you see the day when the current major problem of patients left on trolleys in the corridors of the hospital will seem a minor problem of the past as we were told to take your bed and walk as we camp overnight at surgery physicians to be there from opening to capture that first come, first served appointment, but what?)
Now as we wouldnt want to return to the system without appointment of l950 / 60s when we called in the doctor's office on our way home at 6:00 after a hard day's work and still waiting there, at 20:30 surrounded by coughing and wheezing patients, foggy windows, you Darent open because of the smog outside. You went in a bad back and came out with a troublesome cough. I also bet that the rooms stifling crowded waiting were responsible for transmission of many microbes and viruses. Of course, we wouldnt want to go back to those days, but the positive side at least we saw the great man himself.
So who should we blame for the collapse of NHS service, which was formerly the envy of the world? I think the blame can be apportioned equally between the patient and provider. You might be surprised to hear of any blame to be attached to the patient.
The National Health Service was created so that no one should forego medical care because of their inability pay. It was a great idea and wonderful service, but now, of course, our NHS is certainly not the envy of the world and, unfortunately, We often go to other parts of the world (often at parties where people once envied us) to get the treatment we needed. Unfortunately, because it was a free service (and rightly), he gradually over the years been abused and over used. No, I would add, most used by patients who really need the service. They are often pushed to one side and doctors valuable time taken by patients who believe they have a disease to the current fashion. (I think the doctors had done a race on toenail fungus as possible after the campaign recent intensive advertising on television). So when we visit a doctor, we believe that its advice must be backed up with some requirements magical. In fact, some doctors automatically block their orders before they barely had time to tell your problem. Also his worth recalling that many of our current problems are the result of side effects of well-intentioned regulations. And, more specifically, do we really need to see a doctor at all? Its amazing how many young people go to the doctor to get something for their bad dose of flu, so theyll be capable of clubbing at the weekend. In fact, they seem to realize is that EXCLUDE if they really had the flu, they are in bed and unable to the doctor. What are they really going to worry about the doctor is a bad cold which he is unable to do much anyway, and they probably transmitted another patient in the waiting room which, unfortunately, due to age or disease has a low immunity to viruses.
A look back at our own childhood, have we ever go to the doctor with a sore throat, etc.? I'm sure your memories are similar to mine. The majority of treatment came from within the family circle – a gargle for sore throat, damaged limbs were bathed and bandaged, liniment was rubbed on sprains, etc. As a preventive measure, of my friends wore liberty bodices (remember?) as part of their winter woolens protect against the elements. (Nowadays, of course, exempt young woolens in winter and wear a pattern similar to freedom and the bodice of the fashion statement is not complete unless it is an exposed area of flesh underneath. Brrr! Brrr!) I've always been jealous liberty bodice of my friends that I wasn't allowed one. In fact, I always felt that the disease was not only a sign of weakness of body, but more a sign of weakness of character and a good dose of fresh air to keep away any disease. Our village doctor (or Sir as I was responsible for calling on my one and only visit
to his office empty) must have a quiet life. As a small child
I really thought that if I saw the car outside doctors a neighbor's home
(I knew it was the doctor because he was Visiting the only person who actually owned a car), while the poor neighbor to the door of death. (In fact, they usually were). Some call those days, the good old days when the poor couldnt pay the necessary health care, but on the plus side, I do not remember any child who suffers asthma, allergies, etc. Perhaps all the fresh air, exercise, producing home-gown and, according to today's standards, often unhygienic surroundings, built in a sort of immunity against microbes.
Now comes to my main FLU! This service has been created to provide free medical care for the patient, but the providers of these SERVING have focused on the ADMIN side and thereby lose an amount Colossal The money should be spent on patient care.
Here is my own experience to visit a specialist when I living abroad. (1) The need for X-ray was taken, he discussed the radiograph with me and took a decision there and then visit one. Here, in order to enroll in the admin (1) after having waited for weeks to see a specialist, you are then informed that x-ray is necessary, (2) the greater the need, while admin you wait weeks for appointments, (3) you travel in the X-ray department and then told call for results in a fortnights time, (4) calls you, more hunting and admin perhaps more than you're invited to take a another appointment (5) more travel and more stress than perhaps the origin of X rays was lost when we finally arrived at the rendezvous. Just think how many people are used to weave their way through all this admin and the extra stress and exhaustion due to poor patient. There is no admin, even at the doctor's visit. I will give you an example.
During a visit to my doctor informed me I need my blood pressure. I was told (a) make an appointment with the nurse on my way to surgery. (2) It was queuing at reception to make the appointment, (3) the receptionist's computer browsing to find a vacancy, (4) written on the appointment card, and (5) my duty travel by car the following week for surgery, (6) participate in the receptionist once again, and (7) part wasting my day waiting in the surgery when the time USED doctor informing me that I needed BLOOD Check the pressure he could have checked the information and save time lost ALL THAT, ADMIN AND MONEY. I know you will all have similar stories that you crave get off your chest. I wish those in power would listen to the people who matter to patients.
So now we are just at the corner of winds and winter conditions, we aim to keep medical offices.
