My son spilled a sprite on a borrowed truck, King Ranch headquarters. How can I clean it? It is still wet.?
I am panicking and reallly need to know how to clean it! The soda was clear, but it leaves streaks on the back and head rest. I want to make the truck tomorrow. It is still wet and I want to clean it properly ASAP. Ideas? Leather is not like leather seats, it is not treated.
The first thing I'd do is get my Shop Vac (wet / dry vacuum) and suck all the moisture / soda from the material as possible. If you are not one of them is (as everyone should have), a regular vacuum better than nothing. Then I sprinkle a generous layer of baking soda on the spill. It will absorb more moisture. Let stand while half an hour, then vacuum too. This should take care of the soda, the rest will eventually dry out, or you can use a hair dryer to dry. If the stains, you will need a little more within reach of hand. 2 things you can do here is: go out and get a clean upolstry from an automotive supply store. This thing is a can with a high-plastic bristle brush on it. It sprays a foam. Foam seat up / spill, and as a foam brush around the spill. It dries clear and see the stain. Another option is to use a carpet cleaner vacuum, if you have one. These have an attachment upolstery via a hose and you spray shampoo cleaning the area, then vacuum with hose attachment. Good luck
